Samuel Axon of Mashable has suggested there are several steps companies can take to increase their success.
Including keywords in the title of blog posts is especially important – Google counts terms appearing in titles and early on in the text as the most important, so these could be the phrases companies will rank most highly for.
He also suggests important keywords should be linked to relevant places in order for search engines to view a site as an authoritative source of information. It is important not to include too many links to avoid looking spammy, he warns.
Recently, Kevin Gibbons of SEOptimise, writing for Search Engine Watch, commented that website content needs to cater for both search engines and humans equally.
